 Sunday Small Groups are... A place to learn God's Word and how to apply it in life.  A place to encourage and be encouraged. A place to minister and be ministered to. A place to learn of opportunities to serve. A place for fellowship. A place where family and friends can hear the gospel. Small Groups for adults meet at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. each Sunday morning, opposite our two worship services. Children and youth small groups meet at 11:00 a.m., opposite our contemporary worship and "Praise Kids", our children's worship service.
Sunday Morning Worship Services The Sunday morning services at First Baptist Church are intended to be a foundational part of the growth of a disciple of Christ. We are a tight knit family and our services are informal. Our preaching is not intended to be merely informational but transformational as God's word will be expounded upon and trusted to change lives. The "Sermon Audio Archive" contains almost every sermon from the last few years online if you happen to miss a service. We have two worship services for adults and youth, a contemporary service, meeting at 9:30 a.m. and a traditional service meeting at 11:00 a.m. Our contemporary service is in a modern worship format while our traditional service is based on more familiar hymns of the traditional church. Additionally, we have "Praise Kids", a ministry of worship for children (See Children's Church below). All services are held at First Baptist Church , 14022 Hwy. 36, Needville, Texas. Dress is casual. Child care is available. In between our two services, enjoy breakfast with us in our gym. This is a great time of fellowship where we can mingle with the body as a whole. We have a tremendously dedicated team of workers who take pride and have a strong personal investment in the preparation of food for us on both Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Praise Kids All children between the ages of 5 through 11 have the opportunity to attend Praise Kids the first and third Sunday morning of each month during the contemporary worship service, at 9:30 a.m.. The children's service will be more than a bible study for kids; it will be a full-scale worship service geared toward the needs of children with modern children's worship music, puppets, drama, and relevant teaching. Currently, our kids join us for worship, then depart to the praise kids room for the remainder of their service. Our goal is to teach our children in conjunction with the preaching calendar of the adults so that you will have the opportunity to discuss a common idea at your lunch table after church. Our children's workers are time-tested teachers of children who have a passion for ministry to children in an age-appropriate way. Children 4 and under are eligible for care in our extended session as well so that each family member has age-appropriate worship options.
Mid-Week Bible Study Our mid-week service involves a bible study and prayer time for the needs of our church. Our mid-week Bible study is deep, and focused on those who desire to get into Biblical material on a much more mature level than we normally have on a Sunday morning. We focus on praying specifically for God to move in our community and to show us where we need to be as a church. The mid-week Bible study meets at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday nights. If your children are involved in our AWANA program, this time corresponds nicely to our mid-week prayer time. |
